Device driver not found mscd001 win98

I think I may have messed up. I have a Toshiba laptop w/pentium processor. The hard drive has been reformatted and when I try to load Windows 98 from a boot disk I get the following message: Device driver not found: 'MSCD'. No valid CDROM device drivers selected I'm not a technical guru so any simplified help would be appreciated. Sounds like www.doorway.ru is trying to install a CD-ROM driver but the file is missing. Or perhaps www.doorway.ru DID load a driver and www.doorway.ru can't find the driver loaded called mscd My operating system didn't found a CD-rom. I have 2 optical drives. An AOPEN CDR/CDRW writer (40x12x48x) and a NEC dual layer DVD writer. Next I tried to use a boot disk from WIN98SE but when I selected to boot WITH CD-ROM support I got a message that the Device driver was not found. And I could not select my CD-ROMS.

The cd-rom is creative PC-DVD Dxr2. O/S is Win Device driver not found /D:CD1 No valid CD-ROM drivers selected. Device driver nor found: "MtMIDE01" und außerdem Device driver not found: "Mscd" und als letztes NO valid CDROM device driver selected.
